CHESHIRE COMMUNITY THEATER

2018 Scholarship Winners

Cheshire Community Theater this year awarded scholarships to two graduating high school seniors who had been actively involved in CCT.  Thomas Mueller (left) will attend Clark University in Worcester, MA and Samantha Weed (right) will be going to Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.    Thomas and Samantha join a long line of awardees of CCTís Alvah Root Memorial Scholarship. CCT Vice President Tracy Peters presented the awards at the Community Theater picnic on June 30.

The Cheshire Community Theater scholarship is offered to high school seniors who are pursuing a career in the arts. Since 1978, Cheshire Community Theater has granted an annual award on the basis of financial need and academic performance, with preference given to those interested in a career in the performing arts. Since 1986 the scholarship has been named in memory of Alvah Root, who is remembered with love and warmth by CCT members.
